"Proxy Ownership" is a ground-breaking technology developed by the Gray Boys team. Proxy ownership is a soon-to-be patent pending technology that allows any holder of a Gray Boys NFT access to the utility of any NFT held in the Gray Boys Community Wallet.
Proxy Ownership was released to Gray Boys holders on August 9th 2022, and is currently in beta. Proxy will eventually be "Gated" via a $GRAY token paywall. This serves a few purposes, one of which is modulating the amount of proxy usage, as well as putting pressure on the $GRAY token.

This is a very common and important question.
While the technology itself has a lot of potential to be used maliciously, we are making a large effort in preventing such usage. Steps we can/will take to prevent malicious usage of the proxy include (to be considered, but pending testing and feedback): - Gating proxy access using the $GRAY token. - Requiring multiple Gray Boy NFTs in order to access the utility of proxy. - Manually controlling which NFTs are available to be proxied into - Leveraging the technology for formal partnerships between projects (voluntary proxy opt-in). - Feedback/reporting system within the community. - Rules and regulations (See next section).
How communities respond to our Proxy interactions will vary, and we will collect data and adapt/improvise to find a happy medium that provides our community utility, but also satisfies the concerns of the target projects.
Yes of course. We have a base set of rules that apply even during the Proxy Ownership beta test. This should be obvious, but please be respectful in your usage of proxy. Misuse of the proxy system, or failure to follow rules will result in a NO QUESTIONS ASKED permanent ban from the Gray Boys discord, twitter, snapshot.org, science lab, $GRAY token drops/claims, and any other connection to the project. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Initial rules of Proxy Ownership usage:
Do not use Proxy to spam other servers.
When proxied into another community's comms (any form of), be respectful and follow their existing rules.
Do not harass other community members.
If you are asked kindly to leave, do so for the time being.
Do not post excessive profanity, pornography, malicious links, suggestive images, hate-speech, racism, homophobia, anti-lgbtq, sexism, political beliefs, or any other potentially offensive content. Remember, your individual actions reflect those of our entire community and project.
The long and short of it is; they can't. We have a lot of methods to prevent being "blacklisted" from proxying into other projects. However, at some point it turns into a cat-and-mouse chase. They blacklist the wallet, we move wallets. They ban the token ID, we sell/buy a different token, etc. A lot of the ways a project can/will attempt to prevent Proxy requires custom development work, which equates to time and money.
